All Businesses Can Do Their Bit

There are two ways for all businesses to save on their commercial electricity bills. The first one is to use an energy broker. This is to get them the most cost effective deals for their commercial electricity and gas needs. Energy brokers do this by negotiating the best contract for the business with the various suppliers. This is an important step to save money, but the business itself can hugely save on bills by taking responsibility for minimizing wastage.

If everyone works together this is possible. By managing their energy consumption better, the business not only saves money. They do their part towards the environment by minimising their carbon foot print.

All work together

Everyone is simply too used to flipping a switch on for every need and at the end of the day simply walk out of the office. Instead of turning lights on, make better use of natural light. Instead of turning the thermostat up or down, think about what to wear to the office so as to adjust your layers of clothing for comfort. Use a power strip for personal electronics in the office to plug mobile phones, radios and chargers into.

Putting electronic devices into sleep mode at night does not switch them off. They still use power, so ensure everyone switches equipment off at home time. Replace outdated equipment with energy saving equipment; for instance a laptop computer uses up to 90% less energy than a desktop model.

Power management in an office is not impossible, it is achievable if everyone works together. Saving energy is good for the bank balance and the environment. Surely two important issues for everyone?
