The carbon market has grown three-fold over the last year, with over 3 million carbon credits now being traded each day within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS). In 2006 the carbon market in Europe was worth in the region of Euro 14.6 billion, up from Euro 7 billion in 2005.
Demand for carbon credits arises primarily from those countries that have taken on targets under the Kyoto Protocol, between 2008-2012.
In addition, in the period 2005-2007 there is strong demand for carbon credits in Europe from the owners of the industrial installations that fall under EU ETS.
Carbon Resource Management focuses on securing carbon credits for compliance through the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) from developing countries and through Joint Implementation projects in industrialised countries. It is estimated that in the region of 430 million Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) from CDM projects were transacted in 2005.
In association with Carbon Resource Management Ltd, we apply our expertise and knowledge of markets to unlock value in the carbon credit cycle, from identifying projects to delivering credits to the market.
